What I did in Clinic today

Today we got our mental toughness cds that we ordered. I only got to listen to it for a little before we had clinic. It was REALLY windy, so I was having trouble setting up for some of my groundstrokes, but my serves were overall consistent and had spin.
We played sets. I played against john first with a score of 6-0. I was feeling pretty confident until the last 2 or 3 games, when I let myself get discouraged. also, I started to let my serve slip some.
Then I played Andrew with a score of 5-1 or 4-1 (i can't remember) and in the last game, we had to stop early at deuce. I started out discouraged from having played John. however at 0-5 I started to get the mojo going and was playing pretty well.
Overall, I guess I didn't do that badly, but still, I should have been more aggressive on my groundstrokes, hitting a penetrating ball with spin and pace. The wind was pretty gusty, so that obviously wouldn't let me play my best tennis either. I did have some good shots though (several approaches), and Lisa and I stayed after to hit groove balls. |
